I read a bit about the history of the place to understand your pictures better. It seems like a turbulent and sad history but that is looking at over a 1,000 years. Some of your photos show remains of things that were built with excellent quality and pride and they point to good and happy times. In America we are in constant turmoil over things that a sense of history would teach us to take in stride, except that perhaps no one learns from history. Good job and it must have been a wonderful day.
